Host A Fun VBS Closing Celebration!
Are you looking for more ways to connect with your community and the families at your VBS? Think about hosting a VBS Closing Celebration! A Closing Celebration invites parents & families to your church to get a little glimpse of all the fun their children had that week. This is also an amazing way to personally invite VBS families to your church for a service! Here are a few things to think about and plan:

Invitations // Make sure to have a few good ways to invite your VBS families to your VBS Closing Celebration. A couple good ideas are to include it as a date on your Sign Up Sheet, have a slide up on the screens during drop off/pick up, and hand out a physical invitation at the beginning of the week and at the end!

Sing VBS Songs // Have all the kid participants up on stage to sing their top 3 favorite songs from VBS! Our Music Leader led this moment complete with all the motions. The families loved seeing their kids up front worshipping and singing songs they learned from the week! If you give out shirts for VBS, make sure to have the kids wear them for the VBS Closing Celebration!

Slideshow of Highlights // Pair the VBS Theme Song with an awesome slideshow of highlights from the week! Make sure you feature as many kids as possible, and as many stations/activities as possible! Parents will love seeing their kids on the screen and the kids will love it even more! We asked our Media Director to be in charge of this – they took pictures during the week and created the slideshow for us. (Make sure your families know that photos will be taken when they sign up for VBS)

Picnic Lunch // One great way to wrap up your VBS Closing Celebration is to invite everyone to a free picnic lunch outside afterwards! We provided bottled waters, hotdogs, chips, and popsicles. Families loved getting a chance to mingle together and kids loved having the opportunity to have lunch with their new friends!

Donations // If you provide a free VBS for families, consider putting out a donations box during the week and for your VBS Closing Celebrations. If families feel led to leave a donation, this can help cover some costs of VBS week + the celebration.
We hope you have a wonderful VBS week and that your VBS Closing Celebration proves to be a great way to further connect with the families that participated!
